The last weekend before Emily started work, we headed down to the Galveston area to do some more exploring and camping. We rode the ferry from Galveston to Port Bolivar. This is a picture of the sunset from the ferry.
Jonathan found out about Crystal Beach by asking around. It wasn't listed in any of the guide books, but we had heard that you could drive, camp, and make your own bonfire on the beach. We were really glad to find out it was all true once we arrived.
We took the kayaks out for a spin. The water was cold, but we were warm in our wetsuits. Jonathan is sporting his new PFD and kayak skirt that he got for Christmas. I think it is fair to say that so far Texas suits us just fine.
