Hauling to Houston

We snapped this shot moments before pulling out of Pine Jog. It took us about 20 hours, split over 2 days, to pack everything. If we look a little tired in this photo that may be why. As you can see from the open truck we still had a little room to spare ;-)
This was Jonathan's rig
This was Emily's rig
This was the view from The Waffle House across the street at one of our last pit stops somewhere in Louisiana. A man actually saw us parked from the interstate, pulled off, and pulled up next to us to ask if we knew where he could buy some used kayaks locally. Jonathan's reply was "Check down by the water, we're just passing through."
We made it to Houston in 20 hours of driving, split between 2 days. Thea was waiting for us with hugs and welcome to Texas gifts. Those pictures will have to wait until another blog. We split the unpacking over two days, but thankfully with Thea's help it did not take us another 20 hours. She brought along a dolly/cart that made quick work of our boxes. Jonathan and I both agreed that we couldn't have done it without her....Thanks Thea!
