Muddy Buddy

We had a great time in Orlando last weekend at Muddy Buddy. We finished in 1 hour and 10 minutes. We placed 39th in our combined age group of 56-65. It was hot, muddy, and lots of fun.
Rachel and Derk are in the middle under the towels. The four ladies to the left are friends of Rachel's from the Air Force. We all met for dinner and split a condo the night before. If you want to know more about the race check it out at: www.muddybuddy.com

Big and Rich

Last Sunday night we went to the Big and Rich concert at Sunfest in downtown West Palm Beach. Big and Rich is famous for their song "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy."

It seemed appropriate to get gussied up in our western wear and take a photo in
front of the truck.

The concert was lots of fun even if we did get rained on.

Wilderness First Aid

No, Jonathan did not break his arm!
Last weekend we participated in a 2 day certification class in Basic Wilderness First Aid (when help is delayed)
We are looking pretty happy about our pretend injuries in these first 2 pictures.

We practiced the different bandaging techniques inside and then acted out several wilderness scenarios outside.
Jonathan's character in this scene was found unconsious near the water with severe brusing on his leg....and the Oscar goes too...
Emily's character fell down a steep ravine, while hiking in Florida--yeah right, and had badly skinned knees.
If you're ever unconsious near the water or skinned up from a fall we'll know what to do. We can bandage and treat for shock with the best of them.

In Training

We have been in training for Disney's Muddy Buddy Adventure Race. It is 6 miles long. Every mile you alternate with your buddy between mountain biking and trail running. We went up to Palm Bay to visit and train with our friends Rachel and Derk. Rachel was Emily's college roomate and works at the Patrick Air Force Base Stopping for a break Rachel and Derk Blanset

Long Hair

It's official....Jonathan's hair is long enough to put it back in a pony tail!
He has been growing it out since Christmas. A very proud moment indeed ;-)
